T-shirt painting ideas. How to make an inscription on a T-shirt. We think about it, choose the source materials

This is one of the most popular master classes, since the personalized or individual souvenir that you will receive in the end can be worn and shown to everyone around you at any opportunity. And uncomfortable too :-).

Who is the “T-shirt Painting” master class suitable for?

For adults. It's a lot of fun to draw on T-shirts for a small office corporate event or (by the way, here's another one). This way you can entertain guests at your anniversary right in the restaurant (separate tables are placed for this). They also like to order T-shirt painting for hen and stag parties. Call!

For children. A custom t-shirt is a great gift for graduates in primary school. On a child's birthday, this is an ideal way for parents to take a little break from rowdy guests (even thugs are captivated by the activity :-)).

How is the master class going?

You call the organizers, tell them about the event, the number of people, their age and hobbies. Naturally, indicate the size of the T-shirts. White products are usually used.

If you agree with the host to purchase T-shirts yourself, please fulfill the following requirements:

  • the fabric should only be natural
  • a new T-shirt needs to be washed and ironed (new products undergo treatment before sale, which will not allow the colors to set evenly)

All the necessary paints, contours and brushes will be provided to you, there is no need to worry about anything.

A special plate is placed between the front and back fabric of the T-shirt so that the design does not leak through.

All! You start creating!

How and what you can draw on a T-shirt

This, in fact, is what the master class is all about. You will be shown paints and how to apply them to fabric. They will teach you how to use special contours and volumetric paints.

Option 1 - complete freedom

After instructions, your imagination will be given the freedom to fly without obstacles. You can write your own name or the name of your favorite band, copy comics or funny drawings from the Internet, draw unprecedented flowers or quote classics.

Option 2 - everything according to the sample

The master class presenter will show you step by step how to create a colorful multi-layered design that you couldn’t come up with without a fabric artist. For children's events, it is better to use this option, since children get lost and spend too much time coming up with a plot. And the result of independent creativity is often frustrating, because “I wanted to do it beautifully.”

Option 3 - use a template

There are incredibly beautiful ready-made silicone templates that can be used to create real masterpieces. First the background is made, then additional layers of paint are applied. After such a master class, you will begin to paint not only T-shirts, but also all other wardrobe items :-).

Here is an example of working with the template:

Call if you are in Moscow! 🙂

Lately, hand-painted T-shirts have become increasingly popular. But what to do if your city does not provide such services, but you want to have such a T-shirt right now, without waiting for an order? Or maybe you just want to dye a T-shirt yourself? Nothing could be easier!

How to paint a T-shirt with acrylic paints yourself

You don't need incredible artistic talent to make a hand-painted T-shirt! Anyone can make a simple drawing, just learn to hold a brush in your hands.

Let's look at the materials we will need:

  • acrylic paint for fabric from Decola or another company;
  • special thinner for this paint (necessarily the same brand);
  • brushes of different sizes for painting large and small fragments of the picture;
  • a simple pencil (preferably hard-soft);
  • palette, or anything that can replace it;
  • blank sheet;
  • sketch or stencil of a drawing;
  • a rag (unnecessary cloth) or napkin for wiping the brush;
  • a glass of water;
  • a T-shirt of the required size (white or just light enough), preferably 100% cotton, but viscose is also possible;
  • tablet;
  • hands, patience and time.

First, select the design that will be transferred to the T-shirt. It is advisable to print it out, but it is also acceptable to redraw it manually.

How to paint a T-shirt with acrylic paints

The T-shirt should be clean and smooth, which means, if necessary, it should be washed and ironed.

We stretch it on the tablet. Typically a piece of plywood or wooden board(smooth side up) of a suitable size (slightly wider than a T-shirt when unfolded), but sometimes the lid from a large glossy shoe box or just an ironing board is used.

If the tablet is not large enough, the T-shirt is secured with clothespins, but they may leave marks.

Next, the design is transferred to the fabric. We place the image under the area on the T-shirt that is selected for painting. It will be clearly visible through a light T-shirt. It will be difficult for beginners in terms of drawing to work with dark T-shirts, but, if anything, it is convenient to transfer the drawing onto them with tailor’s chalk or soap. For those who are not at all confident in their abilities, stencils were invented (both from cardboard and from self-adhesive film).

Carefully transfer the design onto the T-shirt fabric using a simple pencil (with jerky movements so as not to move the fabric). For this purpose, you can use carbon paper, but in this case the design is placed not under the fabric, but on it (it is better to pin it with pins so that it does not move). There is no need to press the pencil hard, otherwise the fabric will wrinkle and the drawing will turn out uneven.

When the procedure for transferring the image is completed, we take out the leaf with it and move on to the main action - painting.

Carefully transfer a little paint of the desired color onto the palette (we start with the lightest colors so that we can correct mistakes during work) and add a couple of drops of thinner to it. Stir until smooth.

Many people believe that since acrylic paint is water-based, it can be diluted with water. Perhaps this will not affect the painting process, however, later, when wearing such a T-shirt, the design may crack.

The T-shirt should be painted and dried in a well-ventilated area. As you work, you need to periodically thoroughly rinse the brush and wipe it on a rag to remove excess paint.

The drawing itself is applied carefully, almost pointwise.

It is important to remember that acrylic paint does not wash off (that is, if you go where you don’t need to with your brush, it will be easier to slightly change the design to use an unexpected stain than to try to correct the mistake). For about the same reason, it is preferable to work with gloves.

Complex designs consisting of several overlapping colors are best painted in layers. Each layer should dry for some time (the thicker the layer, the longer it takes to dry).

Following these simple rules, we paint the entire drawing, give it a neat outline with the thinnest brush and send it to dry.

According to the instructions on the paint, the drawing should dry for a day, and this is true (in most cases). In fact, if the image is simple, small, and contains few layers, it may dry much faster (just check by sight and touch - the paint should not be shiny or sticky).

When our masterpiece is dry, remove the T-shirt from the tablet (in some places you will have to tear it off due to dried paint, this is done slowly).

We place a clean sheet under the design so that the paint does not stain the back side of the T-shirt, and iron the entire image through cotton fabric for 5 minutes so that it is fixed. Temperature The iron should be set to one that is acceptable for a T-shirt.

That's it! Now you can safely wear a T-shirt and be proud of yourself.

Hand-painted T-shirts should be washed with mild detergents. Ideally, hand wash, but as a last resort, a delicate mode was invented for automatic washing machines (in the latter case, it is better to turn the T-shirt inside out). The peculiarity of acrylic paints is that they are very bright and do not lose this property even after washing.

With careful handling, such a T-shirt will last no less than a store-bought one with a printed image, or even longer!

They also paint jeans (but thicker paint is required here), blouses, fabric bags, and dresses. Instead of acrylic paint on fabric, batik is sometimes used. But in the latter case, a special contour will need to be applied to the drawing so that the paint does not flow beyond the permissible fragments of the drawing.

Handmade crafts are not only popular gifts, but also items needed in everyday life. In particular, if we're talking about about a T-shirt, the design on which was applied by the child himself. Naturally, wearing such a thing will be twice as pleasant. In addition, painting on a T-shirt will remind you of a pleasant day.

Do you want everyone to remember your children's party? Then entrust the master class to the specialists of the holiday agency “33 Pleasures” (Moscow)! And believe me, the children will be delighted!

The main task of MK is the self-expression of the children! Thinking up what to draw, trying to do it beautifully and ultimately getting an unusual T-shirt, participants use their imagination and learn to make crafts with their own hands.

The guys will be safe painting the fabric acrylic paints. These paints will allow you to preserve the design even after washing. As for drawing, participants can choose either ready-made stencils or come up with something of their own. If the children's party is themed, then we will pre-prepare stencils that match the theme.

Under the strict guidance of the animator, the children will learn a lot of new things about drawing on fabric, and at the end of the MK, everyone will receive a T-shirt made by themselves with a unique image.

All the necessary materials and tools, packaging for the craft, as well as gloves and aprons so as not to get dirty while working - all this is included in the price and our specialists will take care of it. You should stock up on a camera to capture exciting moments as memories!

You will need

  • - markers
  • - acrylic paints and outlines
  • - t-shirt
  • - a simple pencil
  • - stencils
  • - batik paint

Instructions

Abstraction. Roll the T-shirt into a knot, roll or rope. Who likes it more? Soak it in paint intended for batik. It can be purchased at stationery or specialty stores for artists. When you straighten the T-shirt, beautiful symmetrical patterns will be visible across its entire surface. The T-shirt can be tied with cord or ribbon, and the patterns will be more interesting.

A drawing made using outlines or markers. Using an outline or marker, you can create a clear design. For this, there are special markers designed for light and dark fabrics.
Acrylic outlines are small tubes of paint that can be used to draw on fabric. The only thing that outlines give way to markers is that you should press evenly on the tube so that the drawing seems neater.
Before applying the design to the T-shirt, stretch it on a flat surface. Select a sketch and transfer the design onto the T-shirt using a pencil. Now you should outline it. If you want to color the drawing, use acrylic paints.

Stencil. Stencils are perfect for pop art lovers. Sketch it on cardboard. The drawing can be anything - it is entirely your imagination. Remember, the drawing should be solid and not consist of pieces.
Place the resulting stencil on the T-shirt and paint over the entire sheet of paper, then remove it.

Imitation of a suit. A very interesting approach to designing a T-shirt would be a copy of the shirt of a movie or comic book character. For example, on a dark T-shirt, paint the tie, buttons and pockets with white paint.

The design is all over the T-shirt. A rather interesting solution would be a pattern that stretches across the entire T-shirt. It doesn't have to be done on one side. For example, you can draw her paws on the back, and her muzzle in front, her tail can be drawn at the bottom along the edge of the T-shirt.

Sometimes you want to do something original, with your own hands, as a keepsake. Something that others don't have. When you buy, for example, a T-shirt in a store, there is always a chance that you will meet someone wearing the same one. But you can always make your own, which no one else will have.

You will need

  • T-shirt without a pattern, thick paper, a pattern, cardboard (for fixing), fabric paint (or thermal paper), iron.

Instructions

First you need it for the future. This can be an image of any event that happened, or any image you like. At this stage you need to use your imagination a little. You need to apply the design on thick paper and make two stencils on which the paint will be applied. The first stencil will match the outline of the design. The second stencil will have parts of the design that have a different color.

In order not to ruin the T-shirt, you must first practice applying it on a piece of any unnecessary fabric. You need to straighten the area of the fabric on which the paint will be applied and fix it. Cardboard is suitable for this, since it can be inserted into a T-shirt. Next, you need to apply the first stencil and paint it in the right place.

After the paint has dried, you need to complete the elements using a second stencil. To fix it, the applied paint usually needs to be ironed.

There is another way. It requires thermal paper, on which the design is printed using an inkjet printer. Any image is taken (mirrored) and printed on thermal paper.

Next, you need to apply the design to the T-shirt and iron it with an iron at the highest temperature for a minute. Leave the drawing for 5 minutes to cool. After removing the film, the drawing will be ready.

Please note

You must first consult a fabric store and purchase paint that has the greatest durability.

Useful advice

Thermal paper can be purchased at a printing house or online store.

Any plain T-shirt can become a canvas for your experiments. Armed with one jar of paint, you can paint over a T-shirt completely, create abstract patterns on the fabric, or apply graphic symbols. To make the most ordinary thing unique, use several fabric painting techniques.

You will need

  • - t-shirt;
  • - fabric paint;
  • - brush;
  • - threads;
  • - reserve for batik;
  • - cardboard;
  • - scissors.

Instructions

If you want to make a colorful canvas without clear boundaries with smooth color transitions, use a free painting technique. Using a spray bottle, wet the T-shirt, apply several shades one by one with wide brush strokes and let them spread over the surface.

To add more definition to your design and limit the spread of color, try the hot or cold batik technique. In the first case, those areas of the fabric that should remain light and unpainted are impregnated with hot wax (using a brush); in the second, fragments of the pattern are outlined with a special reserve that will not allow the paint to pass beyond its boundaries. Apply the design, checking the sketch and moving from lighter to darker shades.

A painting made using one of the above methods can be supplemented with a volumetric contour - it performs only a decorative function and does not replace the reserve.

As stamps for a T-shirt, you can use halves of vegetables that have a non-uniform texture when cut. For example, half onions You can dip it in fabric paint and apply it to a T-shirt. Such patterns can cover the entire surface or only a part.

There are fabric pigments that dissolve in a large amount of water and are initially intended to uniformly color the entire item. To achieve a more unexpected and interesting effect, make several “tucks” on the T-shirt, tie them with threads, put the T-shirt in a bathtub or basin and fill it with diluted paint (according to the instructions) on top. Without waiting for the fabric to get wet, place it on a dry, clean surface and let it dry (you can dry it with a hairdryer). After this, untie the knots. In these places, the paint forms smudges and voids, which result in an unusual pattern.

Useful advice

Natural fabrics hold paint better, but recently many compounds have been produced that are also suitable for synthetics - look for information about this on the packaging. It should also say about the method of fixing the paint. As a rule, it is fixed by ironing the pattern from the wrong side.

  • how to paint a T-shirt

To apply a design or text to a T-shirt, you do not need to use any special equipment. Of course, this method is not universal, but it will help make your T-shirt or sweatshirt unique. All materials and equipment used are present in almost every home.

You will need

  • - inkjet printer;
  • - a sheet of paper in A4 format;
  • - file (also A4);
  • - scissors or stationery knife;
  • - a bottle with a spray;
  • - several newspapers;
  • - finished drawing or text in A4 mirror image;
  • - a white cotton T-shirt (although a colored one is also possible, but certainly a light one).

Instructions

Determine the place for printing and place newspaper under this place, but not under it, but inside it, so that the text does not print on its other side. Iron the T-shirt. Although here you can do without an iron - iron it with your hands. The main thing is that everything is smooth, without a single wrinkle.

Insert a piece of A4 paper into the file, and then use scissors or a utility knife to trim off any excess until the file takes the shape of an A4 sheet. Next, insert the cut file with a piece of paper into the inkjet printer.

Now take a spray bottle filled with water and start spraying on the surface of the T-shirt in the place where the text or design will be located. Just don’t wet it too much, otherwise the paint will then spread. Just dampen the T-shirt slightly so that the dye is absorbed evenly.

In some graphics editor (for example, Photoshop), mirror the image or text you have chosen and print it to a file.

Check the printed image for printing defects. Do not touch the paint as it may smudge easily. After all, a file is not paper, so the paint is not absorbed.

Now you can leave the T-shirt to dry. Once the T-shirt is dry, you can put it on and wear it. Or you can apply another drawing.

  • where can I print on a T-shirt?

Each of us strives to be bright and individual, different from others both in manifestations of character and in such a seemingly completely ordinary component of life as clothing. Interesting creative ideas have long been revered in society; no one will be surprised by store-bought clothes, but if you appear among friends wearing a non-standard T-shirt with an equally original design, most likely more than one person will pester you with questions about how to paint the T-shirt yourself.

You will need

  • - t-shirt;
  • - cardboard;
  • - acrylic paints;
  • - brush;
  • - felt-tip pens for fabric;
  • - fabric spray;
  • - a stencil with a drawing blank.

Instructions

Wash the prepared T-shirt. This applies to both previously worn and recently purchased items. During production, special impregnations are often used, which will subsequently prevent you from applying the paint evenly and will not allow it to dry without streaks. After the T-shirt has been washed and dried, iron it for ease. further work. If you choose a colored T-shirt, check the effect of paint on the fabric in advance - it may turn out that the accompanying chemical reaction will paint the T-shirt a completely different color from what you planned.

Place cardboard between two layers: back and front. This is necessary so that the paint does not leak to the other side and spoil the future masterpiece. Wrap the top of the cardboard with foil. Your T-shirt should be stretched over the cardboard - only then will comfort for work be ensured, and the design will lie flat on the T-shirt.

Prepare a table for work. Cover it with newspaper or an unnecessary tablecloth. For convenience, you can attach the T-shirt with cardboard to the table with tape.

Start drawing on a T-shirt. If you are not an artist, but have a more or less good command of these skills, apply the drawing yourself using special means: acrylic paints, fabric sprays or. You can purchase all this in specialized stores or art salons. If you are not confident in your artistic skills, use a prepared stencil for these purposes. If desired, apply the design with a moistened sponge, handprint or objects. Your imagination can be limitless. Remember that it is very convenient to use felt-tip pens for fabric to outline all the drawn elements - the contours of the drawing will become clear, bright and not blurry.

Leave the painted T-shirt for 24 hours (the design on the fabric should dry well) and only then remove the cardboard. If you want to have a design on the back, repeat all the steps, turning the T-shirt over to the other side.

To become the owner of an original and stylish T-shirt, it is not at all necessary to spend large sums on designer work. Moreover, you don’t even have to sew a product from scratch, but simply take a ready-made item and change it at your discretion.

How to make an original designer T-shirt

First, you should decide what the product should look like in the end, and also make several. You can create your own T-shirt using your own ideas, or copy an item made by a famous designer. If neither one nor the other option suits you, look at different works of fashion designers and take some of your favorite ideas to create something unique with their help.

Be sure to evaluate your knowledge and skills to see what you can actually do. To make a designer T-shirt, you can use appliqués, beads, and sequins. You can also embroider the product with threads, use scissors and sewing machine to create an original style. Finally, you can sew additional elements to the item and add decorative inserts. Choose what you can do.

Simple and interesting option– T-shirt with a gradient. Take a regular white T-shirt, wet it and wring it out until the fabric is slightly damp. Then dilute a special fabric dye in water, which is sold in craft stores. The color of the dye can be any of your choice - black, blue, red, green. Then submerge the bottom of the shirt into the container, leaving 1/3 of the fabric on the outside. Wait a few minutes and pull the T-shirt up 5-7 cm. Repeat this procedure until you have removed the entire product. Then let it dry and wash by hand. You will get a T-shirt with a gradient effect, which, if desired, can be complemented with original decorations to make it look even more stylish.

There is also a more labor-intensive option. Take a T-shirt and cut part of the back to create stripes. They can be different in width - this will make the thing more original. Then process the edges of each strip so that the fabric does not “scatter”, and the product will be ready. Another option is to cut out the back altogether, and then fasten the front pieces with pre-prepared cords or strips of fabric.

T-shirts with inserts look interesting. Inserts can be made of fabric of a contrasting shade or texture. Another option is to add pieces of sheer fabric to the piece to make it sexier. Finally, if you are good at knitting, make some flowers and leaves from the yarn and attach them to the fabric. By the way, if you decide to modify a T-shirt that turns out to be too short for you, simply tie a ribbon of Bruges lace and attach it to the bottom edge. The T-shirt will become longer, more original, and more beautiful.

Video on the topic

If your creative streak does not allow you to wear consumer goods and you want to decorate a T-shirt with a print of your own, you don’t have to rush to visit a photo salon. It is much more interesting to paint a T-shirt with acrylic paints yourself.

Often acrylic paints are too thick, which makes working with them difficult. You can even dilute acrylic with water if there is no other option. But this will reduce the quality of the paint and subsequently it will wash off from the T-shirt faster. It is best to use a thinner for acrylic paints; it is important that it is from the same company as the paints. The layer of paint on the fabric should be uniform and not thick, otherwise it may not stick. It's always better to do 2-3 thin layers than one thick one, that's what thinner is for. The better the paint saturates the fabric, the better and more durable the design will be. When mixing paints, it is important to do it as quickly as possible, this way the colors will be brighter.

The drawing must be allowed to dry for at least 24 hours. Then you can begin to secure it. Fix the design with an iron, ironing it through gauze or cotton fabric at the maximum temperature allowed for the fabric. Washing and any exposure to water is allowed 48 hours after fixing. When washing, you should use only mild detergents, the water temperature should not exceed 30-40 degrees. Long spinning at high speeds should not be used; T-shirts painted with acrylic are washed, wrung out and dried like delicate fabrics.

Sometimes you want to sew some fashionable item yourself. For example, an original, stylish T-shirt that others don’t have. In principle, it's not that difficult. It is enough to be able to hold a needle in your hands.

We think about it, choose the source materials

First you need to think about the model. Will the T-shirt be tight-fitting or loose-fitting, what can it be worn with, what accessories can it be combined with.

Based on this, you need to choose suitable material and accessories. It is advisable to choose a fabric that does not fray when cutting, since it will be difficult for non-professionals to evenly overcast the edges and stitch the seams evenly. Therefore, it is better to leave satin and silk for later. But viscose or cotton in combination with elastane is quite suitable.

How to cut

You can do a classic cut, take measurements, draw a drawing and make a pattern, which you can then use to cut your future T-shirt. To do this, you will need the following measurements: half waist circumference, half chest circumference, half neck circumference, shoulder circumference, product length.

But there is an easier way. It is relevant if the T-shirt is loose or bias cut. You just need to carefully spread your blouse or yours on the floor and outline it with chalk. Based on the resulting drawing, it will be very easy to tailor a new item.

A loose fit has its advantages - you can design some original element, for example, a back vent or a dolman sleeve. Who knows? Fantasy will turn your homemade T-shirt into a true work of art. The main thing is to make sure that all the seams are even and nothing sticks out anywhere, then you will get a truly designer item.

Decor

The most interesting thing about sewing is decorating. This is what makes a thing unique. The T-shirt can be decorated with anything. Flowers, large multi-colored buttons, appliques and even fur will be used. The main thing is not to overdo it. A well-designed T-shirt will look beautiful and fashionable. So, for example, if you decide to decorate it with a large element, then let it be one. In this case, it is better if it is located on the chest, shifted slightly to the side. A little advice: when you wear this T-shirt, it is better to wear your hair in a bun or ponytail.

Small details will look exquisite if they are placed correctly. You can sew on sequins. It is good to group them into an application or scatter them in sparse rows over the entire surface. Stones decorating the neckline or sleeves will also look good. You can also sew shoulder straps.

Or you can not decorate with anything at all. It is enough to choose a suitable decoration that can be changed every time.

Painting on fabric.
We create unique things with our own hands!

Part 1.
Concept development.

This lesson is based on a very specific piece of work I've been doing lately. A very good friend of mine has a birthday soon. He is an artist, a graffiti artist, quite old. A long time ago, I had the idea to paint a T-shirt for him (fortunately, the size is known).

All that remains is to decide on the concept.
Because people are our apple of the crop, I decided to emphasize this in my work. I'm probably the wrong artist) This time I didn't even make a sketch. But I clearly determined for myself that:

The composition will be located from bottom left to top right.
the whole picture will be splashed paint of all colors with beautiful droplets, in which other objects are mixed.
the paint will fly out of... the banana)))
the person’s name will be present at the work (or rather, the name under which he draws)

That's all. Because I have a problem with letters, I asked my friend to help me young man in drawing up a sketch with the name of the birthday boy.

When the sketch is ready:

I scan it and start preparing my workspace.

Part 2.
Preparing the workspace.

There is nothing complicated or lengthy about this.
first, what we need is of course - t-shirt(or any other textile - jeans, shirt, long sleeve).
The criteria by which I choose textiles:
a) ratio price/quality- the item should be moderately cheap, while good quality. Preferably cotton fabric with minimal stretch fiber content. This way, your finished work of art will not crack when subjected to strong stretching (for example, when putting it on).
b) there should be no pattern on the clothes - embroidery, printed designs, etc. I believe that all this can interfere with the drawing and the process of applying it.

this item is optional, although it is recommended. We need to find some kind of surface or hoop where we can stretch our item. Some people use a shelf from an old closet for this, I used to use an ironing board and pins. Now I’m too lazy to pull it on) and I draw just like that, laying the thing out on the table)
So, the next point is for lazy people like me:

Need a simple one blank sheet of paper A4 format or larger. For what? Even if you pull a T-shirt anywhere - on a shelf or on an ironing board - it is better to place a sheet of paper under the place where you are drawing. So, if the paint leaks, the paper will only stick to the T-shirt, not the shelf or ironing board. If the paper is stuck and does not want to come off, you can carefully tear it off around the stuck area. It comes off easily the first time you wash it.

Most important point - paints.
There are many paints, domestic and imported. Of course, many imported ones are good. But they generally cost a fair amount of money. So my choice fell on domestic paints. There are paints for textiles, acrylic, companies GAMMA. But I honestly didn’t like them, they looked more like paints that needed a contour. They flow strongly through the fibers.
I also found paints from the St. Petersburg plant "Nevskaya Palitra" in the store. These are paints with a name DECOLA. I haven't tried anything better than them yet. They are moderately thick and do not flow through the fibers.
Sold in sets of 6, 9 and 12 colors, as well as in individual 50 ml jars of all sorts of different colors, including fluorescents and metallics.

brushes Equally important. I really love working with acrylic core. Even more than synthetics. I have a lot of brushes, but I usually paint with the thinnest ones available - 1, 2 and 4. In general, I don’t need more.

Palette. My palette looks very scary) This is a simple square tile that my dad gave me back in 1999) About 8 years ago I stopped washing it) And now it is covered with a thick layer of semi-rubber dried acrylic) You can also use just a white sheet, but this not the best option.

A very important element - diluent for acrylic on fabric. It costs a penny and is also sold in 50 ml containers.

and lastly - a ballpoint pen for drawing a sketch.

Part 3.
Drawing a sketch on the canvas.

As I already wrote above, I don’t pull the T-shirt on anywhere, I just lay it out on the table, put a white blank A4 sheet inside and get to work.

The whole concept is kept in my head, but part of the sketch is drawn. These are letters. The word is SEAN. In order not to spoil the sketch itself, I scan it, clean it in Photoshop and print it again. The drawing must be quite large and I print on the entire A4 sheet. Next, I arrange it as it should be on a T-shirt and I pin it with pins so that he doesn’t fidget and the drawing doesn’t slip.

Method of transferring an image to clothing, which I use, will seem wild to someone)) But it is universal for both black and colored and white things.
I take a ballpoint pen of any color that writes, and I begin to push and tear through the paper in those places where there are lines in the sketch.

Don't be afraid, you won't ruin the fabric if the item is thick enough and not stretchy. This method is also universal for clothes of any color because the pen doesn’t just draw on the fabric, it leaves pressed grooves and even on black clothes they are clearly visible. After painting and washing they will naturally disappear. In the next photo you can clearly see the mark from the handle and a small groove. And it’s also difficult to get confused about what’s already circled and what’s not)

In this way, I outline the entire drawing, except for the smallest details, which will not be difficult to complete later. It looks something like this.

Some lines are hard to see. Some only have grooves left. In order not to get completely confused when painting, I circle the questionable areas with a pen. Also, with the same pen, I mark the main movement of the composition, the main elements, such as a can of paint, a banana, dynamically flying paint and other little things, without going into details.

Part 4.
Painting.

When the rough sketch is ready and the letters are circled in the right places, I start painting.
I don't have a strict painting system. I start with those places that seem simplest to me and that I like the most)

It is better to apply paint in more than one layer. Let the first layer dry, then apply another one. Then, if desired, you can apply a third one. This way the paint will be juicy and will not seem like it has been absorbed into the fabric. In addition, the areas covered with paint will appear as if they are made of rubber.

Next, I decided that I would paint the letters. They were supposed to be gold, fortunately I had such paint) I paint with a brush No. 2. I don't need it anymore. Neat lines are initially important to me, because... I don’t know yet how my background will be positioned.

Do you see how the yellow liquid paint was absorbed into the fabric and how faded the color became? Conclusion: if the paint is light, don’t be lazy, go over this area with whitewash first.
So, I'm trying to fix the situation:

The banana is covered with the main color) I begin to detail it. My art teacher told me that if a person does work at different levels, it means he has a problem with his head. Ideally, you need to make a normal sketch, then paint over everything with primary colors, then detail everything in the same way, and then make the final sketch) I have everything in... one place

The banana so far comes out like this:

The overall picture is still not very visible, and I'm going to fix it. I apply paint; I roughly paint over the spray can using silver and white paint)

Continuation:

I continue to apply colored spots of paint after looking at some references with color drops before doing so. Then, obeying some internal currents, without finishing painting with the main color, I began to outline the banana)

I take brush No. 2 and dip it in black paint. I must say that I usually paint with thinner, mixing it with the color directly on the palette. The black paint in my kit is fresh and fluid enough that you can do without it.

I dip the very tip of the brush so that a tiny drop of paint appears on it, and I begin to “rub” it along the contour of my banana, moving the brush back and forth with gentle pressure.

video!

The beginning was slow, I moved the camera there. But in general, it seems clear what is happening on the screen)) there are cartoons in the background

The photo clearly shows the texture of the fabric, paint application, etc. The overall picture looks like this so far:

That's it, now you can trace the letters. I don’t like how it’s turning out yet, because the picture is still far from finished and there’s a lot of work to be done. I trace the letters and paints around using the method described above, “by rubbing”. At the same time, the original sketch is open on the monitor so as not to get confused in the lines.

Once the letters are outlined, I finish the background, obtaining the desired colors by mixing with the addition of thinner.

Hooray! We're coming to the end! All that remains is to outline the brushes, pencils, jar and a little bit of paint and add the missing highlights and... voila! The work is ready:

All that remains is to dry it, secure it from the inside with an iron, choose gift wrapping and give it as a gift)

I hope the lesson was useful and interesting. Creative success!

P.S: to avoid a huge number of identical questions or for those who fundamentally do not read comments:

AFTERCARE

Each box with paint or on it contains instructions on how to care for the item after heat treatment - how to wash it, and so on. Because There are simply countless colors of paints from different companies on the art market, I’ll list them here only for DECOLA paints:

Washing ONLY manual. (at worst, modern machines have a function for gently washing wool and silk. But there is a possibility that the paint will wash off/crack/begin to come away from the fabric in scraps. It is better to test a painted piece of fabric before washing a work of art there)
Washing water temperature no more than 40 degrees. Otherwise, your signature item will be punished by Incorrect Temperature Regime.

It seems that that's all. Things can withstand many washes if you follow all the conditions and do everything carefully. I have a T-shirt that is already 3.5 years old. The paint has not cracked, although the fabric is quite stretchy. Has withstood many washes.
